My Inspiron 13z keeps beeping incessantly. It's not a BIOS/POST beep. It happens during normal usage when I'm logged into Windows 7.
It's not the speakers, I think it's the hardware beep on the motherboard. I have no idea why it's doing it, it's very annoying.
The beeps are random too. I tried disabling the Beep on Device manager, but I can't stop the service (error message) and disabling doesn't do anything.
Most of the time it beeps constantly for about 30 minutes then I hear a crack and it stops, but I can still hear a clicking sound. When I reboot it within 30 minutes it starts beeping again.
It's only beeping recently, so I can't think what triggered it. The laptop's not overheating. CPU temps are about 60 degrees, graphics are about 70.
Could it be a damaged beeper, or is it indicating an underlying problem?
Note: I can still use the laptop normally while the beeping occurs, it just annoys the hell out of me.
