What email did you send dude?

did you ask for some fire proof underwear lol

Well our business buys a hell of a lot of equipment off Dell... I mean we spend a few million a year on computers... so I just sent a nice e-mail saying that I would like to know what went on and that there are assurances that this is not going to happen next time I decide to turn on my laptop...

but I think that I will ask for some fire proof underwear as well :)

Problem being although it happened on a Dell Laptop its probably not Dells fault per se, it just happens with some faulty batteries which is what it looks like, a battery explosion.

Yea but even one faulty battery is one too many. People carry those around and sit with them rather close to their body. Think what the repercussions would be if this happened and someone got some serious burns from it?

ROFL at it being a Dell. My dad loves that company

That guy is wearing all that body armour and stuff, but what about his hands. Has he not heard of an invention called gloves :D
Is there any actual proof that it was an accident and not someones idea of a joke? Someone could have put some explosive in a laptop, set it to go off when the screen saver starts, and rrruuunnn!!!

Quite a lot of people you'd think wear gloves don't as it changes the tactility of things... Think bomb disposal, think pliers. Soliders tend not to wear gloves either or have fingerless ones.
