I have an Inspiron 1501 and when I boot it up I get the mac address and a tftp searching prompt, it then throws up errors and I have to press escape to boot it up.

I have no idea why it's trying to boot from the network (there isn't a network ...). Is it likely I've installed something I shouldn't have?

Check the boot order in the BIOS - could be set to boot from network first
