Dell latitude E6420

Hello everyone,

I am having some problems with my computer and it is driving me crazy, and i think its since i downloaded the windows 10 software but not 100%. First of all my laptop is running so slow there are that many processes happening at once sometimes my CPU is running at 100% which i know is not good, but i'm not sure what to disable or whether this is even the problem or some of my hardware is malfunctioning? Also the Latitude likes to freeze like every other day. The Ctrl, Alt, Delete / Ctrl, Shift, Esc to get to the task manager try to end test and still doesn't work? I also do regular disk cleanup/ de-fragments etc. Or is it just that my computer is too old and i will have to buy a new one? i will place some specs below tell me what yo are thinking...

Model: Dell Latitude E6420
RAM: 4GB
ROM: 1TB
Processor: Intel i5 Vpro

was it a fresh windows install or a upgrade from windows 7 to 10 ?
Do you have all your drivers installed? (check device manager)

Have you run check disk?
Most of our remaining E6420s at work have had the disks go horribly wrong. Never full failure but bad sector hell.
With an SSD installed they are always pretty decent.

It was an update from online not the installation disc, how do you run a disk check???

I did some research and ran a system check from the F12 boot up and it saysy all systems are fine?? where do i go from here?
