Dell Media Direct - won't see DVD's?

On my M1330, it can read/play DVD's in Vista. But not in Media driect. Which used to work. Any ideas how do fix this. Can I restore Media Driect without affecting Vista?

As far as i can remember, Media Direct needs to be installed on a seperate partition before the OS is installed.

Did you reinstall Vista and then have this problem?

No I've not installed any OS, it is as it left the factory.
