I've just placed an order for a 10v with 16GB, I was wondering if anyone else has ordered one yet?

It seemed good value to me, I was going to wait for ION or a next gen intel Netbook, but I dont see any real sign of them before the winter and I expect ION will be pretty expensive compared to the current intel spec.

To update. I'm very impressed with the Mini 10v I ordered. The screen is very sharp, the keyboard is large and the whole thing is very solid. The 16GB SDD is a Samsung UM410, its MLC that runs at 90/45 according to the benchmark I did, gives a Win7 rating of 5.9 so it really does make Win7 fly. Boots very quick.

Overall, its a great value netbook and definately worth a look if you dont want to spend £300.

Hi Lanz,

Thanks for you feedback on the Dell Mini 10v. I was having a look on Dell's website and had a few questions.

Can it take more than 1GB of memory? And will adding more void the warranty?
Is the screen glossy, how is it in the sun?
I am also guessing it has no DVD drive like all the other netbooks?

Thanks.

Ram is upgradable (i.e Not Soldered like some are), but you need to unscrew it. There is no back panel. I cant see it voiding the warrenty if you're careful, as it has no stickers or any security. I was going to upgrade the ram myself, but windows 7 runs fine with 1GB, the SSD makes paging to disk not really noticable as access times are so small.

Screen is glossy, its very bright. I run it at about 40% normally, so in bright sun I'm sure 100% brightness would be fine.

No DVD

Any chance you could do some simple disk access benchmarks (maybe with HD Tune or HD Tach)? I've got an Aspire One at the moment but am considering selling it and my XPS M1330 to get one of these instead; the Aspire's SSD unfortunately isn't the best.

I did a atto test and got roughly 85MB/s Read and 45MB/s Write with a 0.3 access time.
