Hi, I built my new PC yesterday, and now whenever I tell it to sleep or hibernate, the monitor comes up with the Dell self test check box that moves around the screen instead of just going into standby mode. Does anyone know how to stop this happening?

THanks,

Michael.

EDIT - in fact the monitor even goes to the self-check screen when it's supposed to go into standby mode after I've left the PC inactive for 10mins. This is completely not right. Any ideas?

there's some option in the OSD for this iirc, might be in the hidden factory menu. Depending on which Dell model you have, there's instructions on how to access hidden menu here

Would you believe in the end it was simply a loose DVI cable at the back of the monitor? Very odd since it worked fine when there was actually an image to display, and doubly odd since the thing was screwed in too
