Hi, this might be a stupid question but i would like some clarification. Im hoping my new Dell 2407 screen arrives 2moro - the parents have bought my Dell 2007 wfp off me. I will be hooking it up to the house pc - its about a 2-3 year old dell and it has an extremely basic graphic card by todays standards - its a GeForce4 MX 420. My question is, will it damage the screen if i dont run it at its optimal resolution.....?

Eg, the Dell 2007wfp has an optimal resolution of 1680 x 1050............ If my old computer is not up to that and i run its at say 1280 x 1024....... will it damage the screen in any way?

good to know, thanks. One other quick question. Is there a site you can go to where you run a system scan and it tells you a list of graphic cards that could be used on your pc. It might be worth shelling out on a cheap modern graphic card for the old pc.....

Quick google shows this:

[size=-1]Max Res: 75 Hz @ 2048 x 1536

So it should do native fine.

I'm not sure a site exists, however we could probably find out if you gave us the spec of the mobo. :)
