Dell optiplex 740?

Hi, I've recently been given an optiplex 740.

It's one of the smaller dell cases, like the kind you fit underneath a monitor.

Anyway, I'm after a graphics card for it so that I can watch films. Not too bothered about games on this thing, just 1080p and HDMI.

I'm fairly sure it's got pcie so, any suggestions?

Obviously it needs to be low profile pcie too.

A basic card such as a Radeon HD5450 will be fine for just 1080p video.

What spec is the Dell? Ideally you really need a dual core CPU to do 1080p video.

Athlon 64 x2 I believe.

It's capable of it, I'm sure. Just need a card small enough to fit inside it.

Was looking at the 6450s?

The 6450s are a little better, high clocked cards and have HDMI 1.4a so will support 3D Blu Ray. Neither will be any good for gaming though.

CPU will be fine for 1080p video.
