Dell Optiplex MT with a GPU worth it?

Thinking of going back to some CS GO and EFT (escape from Tarkov), and wondering if a Dell Optiplex with something like a GTX 1650 in it would be Ok? Obviously ssd etc for it..

seem to be decent prices refurbished, and a 1650 can run off the PCIe slot if I’m not mistaken?

Should be fine, your correct a regular 1650 doesn't need any power cables just check gpu length.

Make sure it actually has a PCI-E slot and it is full speed, too. You don't really want to get stuck shopping for LP cards, there's a fair range (of 1050/1650 cards), but used prices are still somewhat inflated, despite the crypto crash and new low-end cards being available (like the 1630 and rx 6400).

yeah, I was going to get most likely an i7 cpu..I don’t have it yet, but I did found what I thought was a good deal on a system with warranty, which i ordered last night.

will see how I get on as I have a two week return if not satisfied with the pc.

so did you order the i7, and what model i7 is it?

TBF people still use Haswell i5's for that game so any, 4th gen or up i7 will be fine. but going down maybe not so much

i went For a system with a 7700K. So hopefully it will run CS GO and EFT well..

good to know that people still run Haswell CPU’s and game on them well!

if you look on steam you can see the headwear that people use, and a 4c i5 is still king

i stand corrected 6c's is now king with 4c's in second place

i assume the dell was a no show or faulty? the 7700k should have hammered them games

I have a lot of steam games, so will probably dip my toe into these again too.

yeah, there was a shipping issue, and I thought **** it I will go new.

Kind of mate, I think I’m going down the route of a 5600X and a RX 6700 XT..

But not 100% concrete on that yet dude.

6750xt can be had for the same as a 6700xt

The GTX 1650 is a relatively low-end graphics card, but it should be able to handle both games at decent settings. You should also make sure to get an SSD for the Optiplex, as this will help with loading times and overall performance.
