Dell or Benq 24"?

hey stickroad

replied to your interest in mm.

to be honest i never had the LG, but i did have the Benq and obviously the Dell's.

i think the dell is def value for money and its similar in spec to the benq, it is very well made and nicer to look at.

gaming and text wise i,m very fussy and thought the Dell wouldn't cut it for me but after a few emails from Baddass i took the plunge and i def have to say its much better than the benq for what i paid for.

there is a lot threads on it have a search and you will there are quite a lot of positive comments about it.

Baddass can second that or better it, hes the one who got me sold on it ;)

hope this helps

Thanks ATI, my final choice will be down to looks. Cant decide lol. This is driving me crazy.

no probs

all i can say that the Dell black and silver finish made it the best looking at the time and i think its still is, its very sleek and smart.

some pics dont give it much justice but when you see it i think most people are defantly fall in love with it :) and coming from the benq i cant complain as that was horried and the buttons and navigation menu are very easy to use and get too.

and ohh ya there is no loud wierd bussing sounds from the dells i found like the rest i had in the past.

there is which its expected for that size but you really nned to put your ears at the back of the thing.

Thanks for all your help ATI. :D Thinking about it hard now. :p

Quick question for Gibbo now. If i buy the LG screen and say its not up to much, as in looks and image quality have i got the right to send it back or am i only allowed to send it back if its faulty?

Dont want to cause you guys any trouble. :)

no probs, i understand the pain mate of buying a panel, isn't that right Baddass :p

confirm with Gibbo still!

I am getting the BenQ on Monday. Review sites like Bit-tech say its image quality is miles ahead of the Dell.

Too late to change my mind now I think. The Dell should be arriving at chez me sometime on Monday... probably while I'm at work.

I sympathise with you dude, making a choice on such a big purchase is not easy is it!

I will post a couple of pics of my monitor 'in situ' when I get it so you have a few more pics to build an image in your mind of how it might look in your set up ;)

But once again, thanks all of you for your assistance.

Well done HP good choice. Im going to be ordering the Dell screen tomorrow. :D :D :D

I'm also not sure whether to get the DELL or BenQ, but judging from external reviews the BenQ is a step ahead even in image quality as well as the added HDMI... and the price difference isn't that much here, so i might just opt for the BenQ... what makes the DELL a better choice is what i want to know? im not fussed about the appearance physically.

The appearance my friend. :D

If the BenQ was sold in an all black colour or a silver stand and a black frame i would have also went for the BenQ, im very fussy when it comes to looks. :p

If say i had the DELL, how would i go about connecting a PS3 to this monitor? Would i require extra devices etc? sorry im not too familiar with this, if it isn't much hassle then the DELL might be a good choice as it is cheaper slightly.

Yes it does look very tempting, i probably would have went for that BenQ monitor if the colors were slightly diffrent, ie silver stand and black framework but oh well, ill be happy with the Dell. Roll On Tuesday. :D

The silver frame of the BenQ is what was putting me off until I managed to source a black framed FP241WZ. Very nice looking screen and picture quality is superb. Don't know how I put up with my old Iiyama CRT for so long.
