I've always had dell ultrasharps but I've been seriously looking at the Iiyama Prolite XB2779QS-S.

basically I'm a 3d visualiser so colour is very important as is 2560 res, I also plan to use the monitor for gaming when I'm not working. looking at the specs i'm leaning towards the iiyama as a great workstation monitor that can also handle a little bit of gaming on the side.

is this the right move or should i just stick to dell?

I have the Iiyama Prolite XB2779QS-S with the IPS panel and its fantastic, really really really good. We have the 30 inch Dells in work and the colour is just as good... The Iiyama is a fantastic monitor mate.

I have two Iiyama 23" ProLite IPS Monitors ...very nice monitors ...should have gone for larger ones really

And I would buy Iiyama again too

I bought the iiyama in the end, so glad i did, it's an amazing monitor, far superior to the dells i use at work (3d visualisation)

it does attract fingerprints but the quality is just brilliant, cant fault it.

10/10

I bought the Iiyama XB2779QS-S just before Christmas.
The images looked fantastic until I loaded a dark background and then I saw the backlight bleed which was truly awful.

I drove over to OcUK on Christmas Eve and swapped it for another one.
When I got it home and switched it on, it was almost as bad as the first one. I contacted OcUK and they asked me to send a photo (below):

On seeing the photo they immediately offered me a refund. I decided not to risk a third Iiyama and bought the Asus PB278Q instead.

The Asus is a superb monitor. Response times are good. No dead pixels.
The contrast ratio isn't quite as good as the Iiyama according to some of the reviews but it's a lot better than my old DGM IPS-2701 and there is hardly any backlight bleed.
