ahh just getting annoyed with dell, need a rant

as some of you may have seen from my other posts i ordered a Dell Studio 17 laptop from their outlet nearly 2 weeks ago, the first problem that occurred was my order never got confirmed, i had to call dell and eventually got it pushed though and the money was taken out.

then i waited a few days and it came up on the order status on dell's site that my laptop had been shipped but never received an email to tell me that.
the tracking number link didn't seem to work, but it said it could take a few days, so after a few days i contacted the couriers listed and they said that my laptop was not even with them but interlink was delivering it

so i decided to ring dell if i could get a consignment number or parcel number so i could track it with interlink. according to their records the laptop was just leaving the warehouse and was about to be shipped. i told them the status said it had been shipped a week ago but the guy on the other end of the phone had no clue and said he'd email the outlet and i'd get an answer in the next 2 days. now this is a real pain cause now i have to hang about the house, not even sure if the laptop has been posted.

anyone else had a similar experience with dell?
 
I have only ever purchased items direct from dell 4times, but every time it has been simple and smooth.
Last order was through outlet and that was amazingly fast.
 
Like I said in the other thread, the tracking link is given to you way too early and you should get another email when it actually gets updated with real info. The laptop arrived the next day after that for me so it's probably pretty safe to say that you can leave the house since Dell told you that it's only just leaving warehouse and there's no tracking info yet. Was the a payment problem initially or such? Just surprised you'd actually have to push them to take the money out.

yea i know you said that in the other thread but the fact they couldn't understand why it had been sitting on the "shipped" status for nearly week as they had no record of that.

yea i rang up and they said that the order had been placed but there was something wrong that it never got confirmed and the guy had to sort it.

also the fact that walsh western do no deliver to n.ireland but instead interlink do, even though on my order status it said shipped with wwi confused me even more, i'm guessing the whole order status for me is incorrect and i'll just go by what they said today

guess i'm just unlucky lol
 
just got a call back from dell, turns out it was shipped out yesterday from Asia to ireland
ah well that's a few days
