Dell P2211H - I can't believe how good it is!

I got this cheap LED back lit TN to go with my 24" U2410 IPS monitor. Problem is the 21.5" TN blows the U2410 out of the water! Colours are so much more accurate (even than the SRGB profile), the brightness and contrast are much much better and it's beautifully crisp.

Basically, can you tell me a way I can prove to myself the U2410 is better? I'm a bit upset to be honest :(

how are you determining that the colours are more accurate on the P2211H? maybe you are experiencing some issues with extended gamut vs normal gamut models?

If you want me to put you off your P2211H a bit, why not take a look at the viewing angles of the screen, see what happens when you look at the screen from an angle below :)

I fail to see how a colour can be considered accurate on a panel where a given shade will appear different depending on its position on the screen. I would also like to know what you consider accurate, and Baddass is very right - the extended gamut of the U2410 may make images produced on/for standard gamut screens look strange.

The U2410 is using the sRGB profile so surely the gamut issue is not relevant? The way I tested colour accuracy was by directly comparing images. The U2410 seems to be over saturated.

I'm no expert though so maybe I just like the brightness of the p2211h and the higher pixel density. Viewing angles are excellent for a TN and the blacks at least don't suffer from IPS glow.

That's interesting. All colours or any in particular? Red perhaps - skintones looking off? Apparently the sRGB mode is far from perfect on the U2410 and biases oversaturated reds. Personal preferences, however, are always important to consider. It's good that you like the P2211H and I completely agree that not all TN panels are created equal.

Yeah, it's reds and also loss of detail where shades of green have little definition. Don't know if that makes sense. I am returning the p2211h and have ordered 2x u2311h's as I liked dual monitors and wished they matched up. The U2311h's are native SRGB I believe and lack the wide gamut so shouldn't suffer the same probs as the U2410.
