Hi all,

I recently upgraded my dual monitor setup and purchased two Dell P2214H's which I got a good deal on.

These look like very good looking monitors with a solid stand.

Unfortunately when setting them up over the weekend, when I browse some pages which are dark the Blacks look washed and there is a slight glow effect on some places, I'm really disappointed. Even some pages which aren't so dark the colours aren't all that.

I was previously using a Dell E207WFP, I also use a Samsung SyncMaster 943 at work. Can anybody advise what panels these use? (TN/VA/IPS?)

I often do a lot of my work in the evening, the room would be dark, do I go IPS again buy something else? Or, can somebody advise on TN or VA? Thanks

After a quick google, that screen uses an IPS panel so if you are saying there is a slight glow then maybe you havent been that lucky in the IPS lottery.

VA is better than TN but TN is cheaper, so depends on what it is for? If its for work and not photo editing then TN would be the cheaper option.

TN if you demand absolutely the highest fps and lowest response times at the cost of colour accuracy and vibrancy.

VA if you want stuff to look good and don't mind if it's only 60hz.

Unless you're forking out for the best of the best TN panels, I'd definitely go VA. Cheap TN is a woeful thing to witness, cheap VA not so bad.

As mentioned above, having real troubles with my IPS panel (Dell P2214H), currently seeing like a white sheen over the monitor, don't like it.

After going through quiet a few monitors I've picked out these three below, I'd much prefer to go with a similar built monitor i.e. height adjustable, strong stand. Can somebody advise which one would be the best choice? Thanks

I can get each Monitor at relatively the same price.

I do a lot of work in the evenings, often have a film or tv series on the additional screen, also use photoshop for picture editing occasionally.

Two TV's I've got which I'm quiet happy with are Samsung UE40H6400 and Sony W829, both VA panels, might not be the same but everybody watches from the left/right just fine.

Suppose I do prefer the Stands of the two TN panels but if the BenQ VA has the better panel I'll go with that.
