So, not particularly relevant to most of us, but while bemoaning the slowness of my HTPC (an old Dell given away by work, with a vertex2e and 6450 added by me), I stumbled upon SetFSB.

Previously I had assumed that no BIOS control meant no overclocking. I was wrong! Now, I can't change DRAM dividers, Vcore etc, but I can pump my FSB up a bit! 2.85Ghz stable on my 2.66GHz E7300. Not exactly anything to write home about, but 15% more juice to help with decoding video files while running spotify in the background etc. I'll see how much further it'll let me go, but this is good news for me anyway.

I'm only posting this because when I arrived at OcUK many years ago, I was broke and stuck on an OEM build that could have been overclocked, but I didn't know about SetFSB. Freeware tool that runs in windows, and the only pain is working out which PLL chip you have, but a quick google helped me. Anyway, fun times! See what you can get out of your mum's old PC when you're visiting :p
