Been looking for who actually makes the 5i and 6i PERC cards, I think its Adaptec?

I know that LSI make the Smart Array controllers in HP kit.

They're LSI. You can flash some of them with the LSI card BIOS's but look around first to make 100% sure you're flashing to the right model.

All LSI which means they're extremely compatible and reliable, even the cheaper models.
