Won one of these from the bay of fleas, anyone got any tips etc.???
Bit of overkill for my home network, but wasn't too expensive, £60 inc. postage/delivery

Tips to do what with it exactly? Need more info on network setup and what you want to achieve from it.

It's a Web-Managed Switch so you should be able to do a few things with is, but as Viper said

right, it's my first managed switch. Going into my home network, 3 pc's, 1 x server, 1 x htpc, 1 x xbox360. I've not cabled the house yet all will be connected via cable apart from a lapptop. Have a BT HH2 at moment. QoS settings I've never even looked at. DOn't need a VPN or anything yet...

I've had one for a few years - got it cheap as chips due to a pricing error on the Dell site

It's a web managed switch so whilst more intelligent than an unmanaged switch, it doesn't have masses of features. I used trunking and VLAN-ing, and occassionally I use port mirroring to monitor web traffic.

It doesn't a few other things but that's about it.

For that set up just plug it in and go. All the interfaces should be on Vlan1.

Hell yeah, but it was same price as the unmanaged 16-port switches, so plumped up for it!
