Help,

Bought it for £10 ebay. PSU dead, got a new PSU for £4 from China. All fitted and working.

Unit works in ether modes and takes 5 mins from power up to be working.

I can not log into it though. Tried a como of IP's.

Do i need to set an IP on the lpatop or pc im using to log in the switch with?

Your PC needs to have a IP address in the same range as the switch. If it doesn’t then assign a static IP that is in the same range.

The manual I just looked at has the management IP at 192.168.2.1. Assign 192.168.2.2 – 255.255.255.0 to your PC and you should be able to connect.

It seems to be a strange question for someone in possession of a managed switch to be asking (unless I’m missing something). ;)

It was my fault, had not set the IP on the unit i was running on to log in from. School boy error.

I'm not a network guru never done it but i wanted a really cheap 24 ports gigabit switch and for £14 you can't go wrong. I have 5 rooms in my new house that i want to install ethernet wall plates on, 4 ports to each plate then runs back to the switch. Leaves me with 4 spear ports, 1 being broadband in from router, 1 wifi as using leaky feeder in mid levael and one for my 12TB NAS, and 1 more for my 20TB TPB Server :)

Each room is cable colored, purple for office, green for front room etc.
