Dell poweredge 750

Hi all

I've been given 2 Dell Poweredge 750 servers but neither of them will turn on. They both have a green light blinking next to the power button, and from what I've read that's a good thing. But I can't get the buggers to power on.

Does anyone have advice or experience in using these.

best infor i can find, is to remove all existing components i.e. all ram appart from one dimm in slot 1, and remove the raid card and harddisks.
i'm thinking its RAM issue... but it seems a bit odd its effecting 2 machines at the same time

Strip them down to their basic components and then begin swapping over parts between the servers until it boots. I'd also reset the bios.

Given their age, it could well be dead CMOS batteries causing this.

I must admit the CMOS batteries look a bit shagged. didn't think that would stop them turning on though?

I've seen computers (generally speaking, not necessarily servers) do strange things when the CMOS battery is dead. If you're going to be using the servers I'd replace them anyway.
