I believe so - you may find depending on tables set on the RAM that it may or may not run at 1600 - but other than that I believe any DDR3 is good

I put the Hynix 4gb stick in my Microserver

My cashback was approved in hours as well, did not need any special invoice.

One thing I can say is this server is very quiet.

Memory I bought 4GB of this to make it 8GB.....Crucial CT51272BD160BJ, I would guess you can get 8GB sticks as well.

And yes the Xeon chip is supposed to be better than my 8320................

yup - I'm running Windows 10 Pro - no issues at all

my Music server/production is now:

Dell T20
2x4gb HyperX 1866 (running at 1600)
Crucial MX300 525gb SSD

total cost after cashback £340 - which I think is a bargain for the performance you get

true I already had Windows 10 Pro spare licence but still ridiculously cheap

I mean an I5 would be £220 on its own ? just to start with - then you need a mobo, psu, case, memory, etc etc

I believe so - but you could always put a cheap PCI-E SATA card in and with a bit of shoe-horning get some more in :)

I'm thinking of replacing my HP N54l ...Its a shame about the T20 design...The micro servers are so clean and easy to swap HDD's etc...

But the T20 is so much power for little cash....

hmmmm.....decisions decisions.

It's definitely a budget beast. I've whacked in 16gb more memory and my VM's all run super smoothly. I had to go back to the N54L for a bit and it felt very sluggish.

I've two N54Ls - one running Windows 10 with 6gb RAM - and its SO slow in comparison

both mine going to get relegated to backup - backup devices

I can remotedesktop into the T20 - and its quick enough that I forget I'm on a remote desktop - yet the N54L - because of the processor etc - feels so slow in comparison

Upgrading my main PC today, So might chuck my old DDR3 ram into the server and see how it gets on, Defiantly feel like I need a lot more ram then just 4GB.
