Hi,

We are using primarily Dell Laser Jet 5210n printers with a PS3 driver around our enviroment and have been having an ongoing issue for some time whereby each print is followed by a page with a symbol on it.

This problem mainly manifested itself with Adobe PDF however it seems to be happening with everything now - be it Word / Test Print / Notepad, etc.

Has anyone ever come across this before?

I have updated the firmware to the latest version on the printer, have tried the old PS driver along with the XL driver to no avail.

Dell Support have been no help at all - suggested what we had already tried and then said it is an issue our end - which if it is, I can't find out why!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Does this symbol print off when printing a configuration page from the print menu? Is the printer shared from a server? x86 or x64?

Well after spending a couple of hours faffing around, I found it was an option in the driver CP - if you go to print preferences, more options and advanced there was an option that was ticked that said 'Sent CTRL D after print'... I unticked this option and jobs a good un.

Quite strange that it is enabled by default... this was on all of our 5210/5330 printers by the way (approx 30)

If anyone else is experiencing any problems with PDF printing then there are some postscript options - I found changing these to Portability and to not print any error pages sorted a couple of other niggles we had with documents we were receiving and subsequently printing!
