I've been searching around for an answer to this but cannot find one.
We have a "cheap and cheerful" Dell R200. It has a single HD installed and we've now realised there are some important things on it. So some kind of redundancy would be good.
This server has not got a RAID card in. If I go into the (albeit) limited looking BIOS there are no RAID options, so I'm assuming there is no on-board raid either.
There is a bay for a second HD and there is an option in the BIOS:
HD Failover
Which is currently set to off. So my question.
Is this a nice and easy option to allow me to add a basic RAID1 array. So add a second HD, switch HD failover to "On" and away we go.
Or is this BIOS feature...well not what I think it is?
Cheers.
