I got a Dell studio 17 just over a month ago, a few days ago there was a message in the bios that the AC adapter wasn't recognised. the laptop still works using the AC power but the battery won't charge and the battery is now compleatly dead (if i unplug the AC the computer shuts down)
after spending a few hours on google it seems like this is a common problem with M1530 and 9300 models, the way they fixed them (after several troubleshooting steps which i have also tryed) was to replace the motherboard as the power connections were damaged.
my question is does anyone know what sort of time frame it would be to send the laptop to dell have it fixed and shipped back, this is my main work PC so i can't do without it for too long, i'm just wondering how long i will need to borrow a different laptop.
