Hi could anyone tell me how the Dell RMA works?
i need to send my 30" monitor back,do they send a replacement out first, and how do i go about packaging the old moitor up as its not the smallest of things to send in the post

anyone had ny dealings with dell?

depends what your warranty is...
Mine Dell was bought from here with 3 year door to door.
rang Dell with my problem, and next day guy delivered me new screen and took the old one.
 
With being a 30", it'll be a premium warranty, so they'll come to you with a new monitor to swap over. I've had to use this twice (I've got 3x 24" 2408s) and both times they came out next day with replacement screens to swap "on the door step". This is the main reason I'll stick with Dell Ultrasharp monitors when I upgrade these 2408s. :p

Whats the problem with the monitor?

I have the Dell30" 3008 and it comes with the 3 year door to door,
 
I have used it, touch hairy wood once myself and it was a simple door swap.

Its these warranties that will keep me buying dell for monitors and logitech for peripherals.
 
QUICK UPDATE!

i phoned dell yesterday 4pm to tell them the fault
10am today a brand new retail box arrived delivery man opened box and to my delight a new shinny 3011 version was in front of me
what a service! what a monitor:D
 
Sorry to bump this thread, but my P2210H has started failing within 2 years, it's covered for 3 years with Dell.
What's the number for Dell's RMA? The one in which people seem to get good service :p?

well im hoping that the service from ocuk is better.

Recentrlty bought a Dell U3011 from another company about 20 days ago the monitor went faulty so contacted dell and though i would be getting a new replacement screen, insted after 20 days i got a refurbished model from dell that was badly packed.

had to dell to take it back as wasnt tgoing to accept that after 20 days and the company that i purchased it from wasnt prepared to exhcange only give me a refund, so have ordered a new one today from overclockers.

What made me mad even more was that the warrenty was for 3 years but when i had received the screen it had already been registered with dell back in august so the monitor was already 60 days old.

well unless you buy direct from dell the monitor wouldn't be 'just off the conveyerbelt' new(well as close to), ocuk etc order the stock then it sits in their warehouse until its sold.

so the date on the box it the date the etailer got it from dell(well when dell shipped it to the etailer), I bought the u2711 off the bay(brand new for £570) back in august and the 'date shipped' was 14th april so not getting full 36months(3yrs) warranty but then I saved almost £100.
 
rang up dell today for my u2410, right side of screen gone dark.

there sending me one out tomorrow, i asked if it was a refurb they send and they said yes.

having used dell warrantys on other monitors ive had, no doubt it will be a bad unit! :(
 
Hmm why dont ocuk do this? I need to get my 950D as they sent the wrong one to me (the 750D), but I have to get it picked up first then when they have it, they then send me the 950d?? :-/
