Hiya guys....... not new here, for some unknown reason my other accounts not working, but for now, I wanted to ask if any of you using the Dell S2409W 24" Widescreen wouldn't mind posting your settings?

I have brought this to replace my broken Viewsonic VP930 which when I got it 4 yrs ago was the doggs nutz! 15ms response time wahoo!!!!

Now it would resemble a Sinclair ZX81 im sure :D

I got this as there were some really good write ups on it, and for the money and my budget it fitted the bill

The problem I am worrying about is now whether my PC is up to the job :(

I have a PC about 5 yrs old, which I built myself, and again, at the time, it was a damm good system, Abit AV8 3RD Eye MoBo with an Athlon 3500 CPU in it, and a gig of Dualed Ram

The Graphics Card is a Gainwood Ultra, 256 megs, Nvidia based and a 6800u if mem serves me correct.

Its overclockable, although I never have, but will it suffice???

Trouble is, my system needs a major refit, and I simply cant afford it, and there are not too many upgrade routes for AGP Cards are there lol

Anyways, off topic a bit there but, the monitor arrives tomorrow, so I wondered if anyone had tweaked theres and found some decent settings?

Does it come with calibration software?

Best wishes

Chris

Hi I just did the same for my VP930 but found out that it was still in warranty so I now have 2 monitors (VP930 is still v good btw). my settings a bit dark but:

Bightness 75
Contrast 70
Preset mode Custom(RGB) with Blue dropped to 85

Its not quite there yet in terms of fiddling but its a good start.

can you get a tape measure out lol

missus thinks it may be a bit big for our office/gamer room lol

I want to know the outer size of the screen (outer casing if you like hehehe) height and width, and also from the desk to the top once its in situe, so I can get a rough idea as to what its going to be like
