Hi. I have recently bought a Dell S2417DG. The monitor is exceptional for fps games, especially once you activate strobing. I started to have fatigue at my eyes and headache since day1... so the 3" day i tried to calibrate it. I have discovered with lagon test and eizo website that the gamma (without apply any ICC and any nvidia modification) is very low (1.2~1.3). A lot far from the suggested 2.2. Here are three screenshot of Lagon and eizo website gamma test.

I have tried to apply ICC profile of Tft central, Rting and Pc monitor. The only one that raise gamme by 0.2 is Tft ICC, but it still very low.. around 1.4 ~ 1.5. I have also tried to disable ICC profiles, setup OSD monitor as original and to play with Nvidia setting ( Nvidia Brightness 40% contrast 30% and gamma 0.75), i could only raise gamma to 1.4, and the general quality is so so...

Need help. Shall i RMA it? there is any way to fix a so low gamma?

Thanks
/Daniele

Fatigue/headache is unlikely to come from gamme curve.
That's more sign of PWM backlight or such strobing backlight causing similar phenomenon as in old CRTs at too low refresh rate.
Also having window and very bright outside light behind monitor is bad.

thank you for the hint about the window, i didnt know: but luckly, most of the time i stay in front of pc at evening/night.
I didnt play much with strobing, a pair of hours maybe at Apex legend. 100mhz and 100fps costant. But yes, it is more fatigue during while playing apex, dunno because of the game or for the strobing itself. I'm aware that a low fps when strobing is just wrong.

About my question... shall i send it back or m i missing something why the gamme is soo low ? :(
