Hi All

I have had this monitor since November and I have started to notice a dead pixel, at first i thought it was some dirt or something so i wiped it with a microfiber cloth and it went away. Now today i look at it and it is back again, it seems to go away when i wipe the area with the cloth, sometimes it flickers. What do you guys think I should do, return it or live with it?

it's a lazy pixel not a dead one. apparently they can become active if you massage them.

google for more info on what i am talking about but take a microfibre cloth and gently massage the area for 5 minutes whilst it's on iirc.

As above try giving it a gentle massage (hah) it should go away in theory.

Thanks for your advice guys. So yesterday i massaged it it and it went away, just now i turned the pc on and there was so sign of it until i started playing the Witcher. Massaged again and its gone again?!!? It is quite noticeable when it happens because its like a turqouise colour and its not too far from the centre. This massage thing seems to be doing the trick though. Hopefully it won't get any worse because returning it would be a hassle.

Hmm it should go away for good really - if its coming back its likely to get worse :s

I'll see how it goes over the next few weeks but if it keeps returning i will have to call J Lewis. Just noticed it came with a 3 year service guarantee with them so it shouldn't be too difficult should it need replacing.

they wont replace for 1 dead pixel or lazy pixel in most cases.

try massaging it a bit harder and for longer. if that doesn't work permanently then check the backlight bleed and send back.
