For some reason, I cannot get GSYNC to work on this monitor.

In the nvidia control panel, I have GSYNC activated, obviously, and it "Manage 3D settings" under "Global settings" Monitor Technology is set to "Fixed Refresh" Setting it to GSYNC seems to permenantly enable GSYNC, which I don't want (I like to use ULMB outside of gaming)
Under "Program Settings" I set "Monitor Technology" in my games (Overwatch in this case) to GSYNC, but whenever I launch the game, the monitor always says its in "Normal Mode"
It will not switch to GSYNC whenever I launch the game.

Any idea why this is? A bug in the drivers maybe?

Cheers.

If I'm reading your post right I don't think you can do what you want to do - it won't dynamically switch between G-Sync and ULMB you either have to have it setup for G-Sync or disable G-Sync entirely to use ULMB. When you have G-Sync enabled even if not using it, it blocks all other techniques due to using a different pipeline that bypasses them.

It used to work, that's the thing. I just can't seem to get it to work anymore. I can't even get ULMB to work at all now... the option is constantly greyed out on my monitor.
Gsync seems to be working now with the "limit fps" option enabled in overwatch, but ULMB.... I have no idea why it won't let me enable it anymore.

Are you sure you have the monitor set to 120Hz rather than 144Hz?

Not quite sure what to say as ULMB option will not be enabled with G-Sync enabled and the pipeline used when the G-Sync hardware is enabled, even if not actually being used, completely lacks the ability for ULMB to be utilised.

It may be possible to configure individual program profiles to switch on demand I've not tried that.

Wow.. that was it! I can't believe I forgot about that. Thanks!

That's exactly what im trying to do. All the options for this are in the nv control panel, it just doesn't seem to work, lol.

in nvidia cp have you set vsync to 'on' (set to off in game)

ok so vsync must be on in the control panel and off ingame. gotcha.
