Dell S2716DG to PG279Q/XB271HU worth it?

I've had the Dell for about 1.75 weeks and while I'm very pleased with the motion clarity and responsiveness, having it beside an IPS monitor recently really opened my eyes to its extreme colour deficiencies, colour shift and lack of contrast (the IPS was MUCH closer to the OLED in that regard).

So is it worth it going from the Dell to one of the others? The size/resolution is fine, but will motion clarity suffer? Is the panel lottery truly not worth the trade off in visual quality? Anyone who's had both please chime in.

If you tweak the gamma via software on the Dell it looks a lot closer to an IPS panel - though depending on how far you pull the gamma down closer inspection will show some level of black crush. Also won't get as deep saturated detail on darker red colours, etc. as IPS, etc. but it will look a lot less out of place alongside a good IPS.

I'm using:

(in nVidia control panel Display->Adjust Desktop colour settings)
Gamma: 0.75 - on my Swift version of this monitor it results in quite a bit of black crush and I have to back it off to 0.86 on my Dell there is only minimal black crush at this level.

(Monitor OSD)
Brightness: 33
Contrast: 75
User colours R, G, B: 100, 93, 100

Nope, Not worth it, I had a Dell S2716DG and now have a PG279Q, While the newer panel is nice the difference isn't worth the extra amount of cash IMO, IPS is vastly overrated.

The only up side are the viewing angles but if you don't play your games from the side of your monitor you'll be fine and even then the Dell does have good viewing angles.

Save your money and put it towards something useful like an SSD, Headphones, External AMP/DAC, Better cooling etc....
