I am thinking about treating myself to an external monitor for my Dell laptop

Does have anybody have any feedback on the Dell SE2417HG
Really using the Dell SE2417HG for photoshop , word and PDF`s files , not really for gaming

Don't get a TN monitor! ESPECIALLY if you're not going to game on it. Frankly, 60Hz TN is pretty much the worst thing you can get. Instead, go for VA or IPS/PLS.
What's your budget? Or are there any specific requirements? Like VGA and/or HDMI connectors, speakers, VESA mounting option, flicker-free, etc.? Here are few candidates for starters:

24":
BenQ GW2470HM, £120
Samsung S24F350H, £130
Samsung C24F390, £150

27":
Iiyama Prolite XB2783HSU-B1, £170
BenQ GW2760HS, £180
Samsung S27F350H, £180
Samsung C27F390, £210

Personally, I would recommend going for a 27" monitor, either for the BenQ GW2760HS, or the Samsung C27F390.
- The BenQ I've recommended quite often before, and never heard a complaint back. But it's indeed getting quite old (2013).
- I bought the Samsung for my father earlier this year, he's been happy with it so far.
