Dell Soundbar

Psymonkee had one at the LAN we went too :p It was surprisingly good for something that looks quite weeny. Certainly loud enough for some co-op guitar hero and had decent sound quality too.

Ok this maybe a stupid question but... According to my monitor manual i need to plug the soundbar into the monitor Audio out jack. Fair enough, but theres no audio in jack and as the monitor plugs into the PC via DVI no audio. So am i assuming correctly in order to use these speakers for both PC and SVideo / other i would need to by a splitter cable and do some creative wiring to split the speakers between audio sources? not running at the same time obviously.

I plugged one lead from the soundbar into a power output on the monitor, (plastic moulding on end was coloured black), I then plugged another cable from the soundbar (with green coloured plastic moulding) into the analogue out of the soundcard........ :)

Yeah; what i was getting at is how would you get audio from the monitor i.e from composite or HDMI if you didnt plug the soundbar into the monitor via the output lead. See what i was wanting to do is have the option to play sound from two devices through the speakers.. not at the same time though :D

I think you would deal with the sound this way, take a cable from the audio out (of the HD device) to the audio in of your soundcard, which will then let you use the soundbar for your audio, or if that does not work, try putting the audio cable from soundbar (green coloured moulded end) into audio out of HD device. :)
