Dell Studio 17

Hi.

Considering getting a Dell Studio 17 to replace my main rig at the moment. So I'm not tied to my desk all of the time and can hopefully work in the sun.

First question, would I notice must have speed increase going from 1MB cache to 2MB cache on the Dual-Core Processor T4200 2.0GHz?

Second question, would I notice a difference in quality (colour, sharpness) going from CCFL to WLED considering I'll be using the laptop outdoors.

Also add any other comments about the Studio 17 I should be aware of before buying or any other laptop I should consider. Max price will be £500 and it has to look good.

Doesn't actually say. Not sure what TrueLife is either. This site is awful, haha.

just read up and "truelife" does refer to a glossy screen

You'll really struggle to see the screen outside, i know i do with mine its like a mirror :s

Been looking at the HP G70-212EM as well but the price is basically the same, so I'd imagine that's glossy as well.

The dell vostros might have a normal matt type of screen though.

edit - the vostro 1710 has a choice between antiglare and truelife.

Genius! Didn't think about looking at the business range. Looks nicer than the Studio 17 as well apart from the hinges.
