Currently running 2 x Removable HDD Caddies via a Dell Powervault RD1000 and using an old version of Acronis to undertake daily backups (and take one caddy home)
However the backup system is far too slow when accessing data and with it being over 12 years old I'm looking for an alternative

Would consider cloud backup but would still like an offline backup option that can be taken home at the end of the shift

Dell PowerEdge T340 Server is running Windows Server 2019 Standard

How much data to store and how sensitive this is?
I.e. you need redundancy on backup device?

Think Community Edition veeam can back up one server without purchasing licence...
Evening Robert,

200Gb would cover the whole server (O/S & Data Drive)
Sensitive data approx 10GB

The O/S is installed on 2 x M2 SSD's via a BOSS Card
The Data is hosted on a RAID 10 Array (4 x 4TB Ironwolf Pro HDD)

Will look at Veeam

Not much of networking on that server...
Not mentioned if you have data and backup software on separate servers...?

With offline copy and such amount of sensitive data I would consider even portable 2,5 inch SSD with encryption on it as Veeam repository.
And for 'onsite' copy I would buy separate NAS that has iSCSI capability and connect it via network to Veeam server.. then would install a 'proxy' agent on main server and sent data direct from source server to storage without need to copy data over network via Veeam server.
Veeam supports incremental backups, so backup time would not be painful on normal days and you can do 'full active' as time allows..
Apologies for the delay was away on a long weekend
The server has 5 Client PC's to host
No separate server for backups

Will look into your options listed and will definitely invest in the SSD and Veeam offline options
