Hi All,

I dont know what to think of that monitor.
First thing that worries me is how much of light bleed should i expect when
just plain black screen is displayed?

I am getting some light bleed on all corners of the screen with worst bit being
bottom left, it streches about 8-9 cm to the right and is about 2-3 cm high but it does fade in. Also light is kind of blueish.

anybody can comment?

Most color presets are quite strange looking, on some web pages, overclockers shop for example turns black letters on grey surface greenish with some presets.

Response times are nice, there is no ghosting, games look nice.

But all in all, i am a bit dissapointed with it due to above imprefections.

Any comments will be appreciated

and yeah, almost forgot, if anyone wants to share settings they have it setup under i would appreciate

I have had this monitor now since December and find it pretty good as a basic 24" er. As for the amount of bleed, mins not too bad, very light actually. But have a look here for someone who returned his based on the pic he supplied.

I too had what you described as the green tinge to black text on a grey background. After tweaking around with the settings, I've sort of fixed it. But from reading through a few posts from various websites, I've come to the conclusion that its a problem that others have too, and according to Dell support they recomend using Clear type, which most of us already use, go figure.

I too was hoping some others would share info on settings etc, but as yet I'm still waiting. Using a calibrating tool, might prove to be benificial, but then, I baulk at the cost of these things. Anyone got one going cheap second hand?

Any how so far my settings are:
DVI
Brightness = 53
Contrast = 70
Image Settings:
Sharpness = 80
Coloue Settings:
Colour Management = On
Colour Settings Mode = Video+

Would like to adjust RGB colour settings, but as yet havn't had a rearly good go at them.

As for playing the odd game its very good, picture wise, as is viewing HD videos.

It does have its flaws, but then at £100 less than the PVA version, its not that bad.

Thanks for response Earl, i will try your settings.
I checked out picture of light bleed, i will look into it further, i will comapre
mines to his, but it looks like mine is even worst.

I guess i am just being unlucky, but i always kind of had a bit of a bad opinion of dell and their way of doing things, i guess my comments and thoughts come to haunt me :D

i use the following on mine

Brightness - 24
Contrast - 52
Sharpness - 50
Colour Management = On
User PReset
R - 98
G - 96
B - 100

I called Dell guys, and i went for RMA, besides light bleed i found one dead red pixel.

My hat down to Dell's RMA service, they gonna pick this one up and give me another one, cant fault it, i just hope replacement monitor is going to be ok

Replacment has arrived, man,
what a difference, its not bad monitor at all
:D

Glad to hear that you like it :)

I find it a very acceptable display, has its slight flaws, but I can live live with them.

If you do find a good setting, then let us/group know, could prove usefull.

Got one today - Revision A01 - assume that is the latest. Compared to the dire PVA Hyundai one I had before its fantastic. I didn't have loads of money so very pleased with it overall in games especially.
