So I need a new monitor since I need more desktop space since 1 monitor is not enough.

Now I was looking at the Dell U2211H (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-045-DE&groupid=17&catid=949&subcat=) since it is the cheapest IPS panel I could find.

Is this monitor good? I mean sure it is an IPS panel, but is it worth the £230? Do you know of other monitors which are better in this price range?

I'll be mainly using the monitor for gaming, movies, photo editing and music production. I need it to be 22" since I already have another monitor and I barely have room to fit another one xD

thanks.

take a look at the u2311h for the same price :)
Great monitor - I have 2 of them.
I got them both for under £300, but i can say they are worth the price.
Also, the stand is excellent.

The 23" is not too much bigger than the 22" but can feel a considerable amount bigger.
you can also put it in portrait mode really easily with the stand and use it for web browsing/word docs/programming etc.. efficiently, and use your other for games, or just run it landscape.

Yeah it's probably the best monitor at it's price point and size although it's not the only ips panel monitor at that price point there is also a Viewsonic one but I'm pretty sure the Dell is better

just saw the 23" actually. I guess 1.5" doesn't make that much of a difference.
The monitor looks awesome :) Love its minimalistic design.

I'll take a look at the ViewSonic monitor..

Edit: Just saw the viewsonic.. the Dell looks better - 8ms vs 14ms response time, however the Viewsonic does have more brightness, though I doubt I'll be using the full 300cd

The U2311H is a brilliant monitor. I use it for photo editing, movies and games and I've been very very happy with it. Couldn't go back to TN panel after using IPS.

Power consumption is excellent as well.
It's about 33w uncalibrated, and after changing some brightness and backlight settings you can get to about 25W if i remember correctly.

you can buy these IPS Dell monitors for £150 "as new" doesn't take much searching and they really are as new. I paid £250 for my 1st and then £150 each for my other 2 and they are all as good as each other. You should have looked around.

My Dell U2311H arrived yesterday, it is a really good monitor. The colours are dead on, it looks great, it moves well so you can spin it around with any issues and it is pretty good for gaming too - haven't noticed any issues with response time! Enoying it so far!
