Dell U2311H or U2410

I've finally narrowed down my monitor hunting to two possible buys.
I am a graphic design student, and will be using this screen for design/photography purposes also with the intent to do some moderate gaming.

There is almost a 100% price difference between the two models, I know there is an inch difference in screen size, but otherwise are there likely to be many more differences?

its also notable to say, I do not need any of the extra connections offered by the u2410.

I currently use a 15" macbook for everything, and have came from a 27" imac, and a 24" samsung TN panel before that. Would the smaller size of the 23" be a massive shock for me? or is it an ample size?

(I plan on buying 2 of whichever monitor i decide on)

It's all in the colour gamut. The U2410 has a 'superior' backlight which allows it to display a greater range of colours - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18200121&highlight=u2410+username_pcm2 (replace 'ZR24w' with 'U2311' as they share similar standard gamuts). The resolution of the U2410 is also superior and not just the screen size.

Both use IPS Panels which is a good thing. I would go with the cheapest version.
