Dell U2312HM Help

Right, it's me again. I'm looking for a monitor for my build and the Dell U2312HM for around £180 is the best i could come up with. Are there any better solutions?
Also there is no HDMI port on this monitor... I may be asking a very silly question, but doesn't the computer connect to the monitor via a HDMI cable, or am i missing something? I don't particularly want to buy a monitor i can't actually use the HD facilities

I have 1 of these and I like it. I connect to it using displayport so the resolution isn't a problem. It doesn't come with a displayport cable though.

The LG IPS234V uses the same IPS panel as the Dell but costs considerably less. It also has DVI & HDMI rather than displayport.

The LG one looks good, the only thing that worries me is the response time, I would be using this for gaming, EvE/LoL/BF3 etc... for roughly £180, what would be the best option?

The response time is 5ms G/G more than enough for gaming.

I have the 3D version which has a slightly higher response time and notice no ghosting or anything.

A TN panel will offer faster response time at the expense of image quality and viewing angels.

Generally DVI ports are still the most common connection.

So you are saying that the LG one is the same as the Dell one, but £50ish cheaper, what are the differences to make that £50 differences?

It uses the same IPS panel. It's cheaper as LG do not charge as high premium as Dell. The panel used in the Dell is made by LG so LG can cut out having to factor in supply costs etc...

I've heard that the LG stand is quite flimsy and that you can't change the viewing angle/height?

I never used the stand on mine just bolted it to my desk mount. The stand is not a patch on the Dells which is far more adjustable. From looking at my LG it seems it would have tilt but no height adjustment.

I bought the dell one today ( 185 euro). Chose it over the LG because dell tend to have better build quality and the stand is awesome. Sucks that there is no hdmi though so cant use my xbox/ps3 on it.
