Hi,

I am bit of a newbie so please bear with me.

Ok iv purchased the u2410 and extremely please with it. In NVIDIA control panel the resolution is set to native 1920 x 1200. There is another option above to set the resolution to HD 1080p 1920 x 1080.

Maybe im being thick here but with the native set resoution is this HD as well when the application allows?.

With the current NVIDIA drivers it does not give me the option of set to HD 1920 X 1200.

I am using a HDMI cable

Thanks

Nick

1920 x 1200 is also High Definition its just a different aspect ratio (16:10 as opposed to 16:9) and resolution from what the media industry calls Full HD aka 1080P. Infact you can say that 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) is more HD than Full HD.

Generally HD means anything with a resolution higher than standard definition.

You'd be better off keeping your resolution at 1920 x 1200 as it is the monitor's native resolution. I'm guessing what the "HD" in the nVidia CP is telling you is which resolutions are the industry's standard resolutions for high definition video.

Native resolution for the U2410 is 1920x1200, this is the resolution you should really be using and the drivers should give you the option for this resolution. Just use the Windows resolution menu, no need to mess around with the nVidia CP.

What OS and nVidia Driver Version are you using?

Thanks for the information and useful.

Im using Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and the NVIDIA driver version is 2.7.170.15. and GC is 285 gtx.

I surpose i would be better to update the drivers. If i do should i uninstall the old version first before install the new ones?

Sorry to do off topic

Thanks

Yeah get the latest ones off the nVidia website, download them, uninstall the old drivers from Add/Remove Programs and install the new ones. Shouldn't need to reboot between uninstalling and installing the new ones.
