Dell U2410 issues

Hi all,

I'm hoping for some advise. I received my brand spanking new Dell U2410 this past Friday. Unfortunately when I switched it on for the first time I noticed what appeared to be some sort of odd hazing on the screen (I can't think of another term). At first I thought it was really bad back-lighting, but it appears to move when I shift position in front of the screen. It almost acts like a strong reflection, but isn't. It's sitting next to my other Dell 2408WFP which appears almost solid black, even when viewed at an angle (with the exception of some minor back-lighting bleed). I've attached a couple of photos.

I didn't buy this from Overclockers but from Amazon. Do you think this is normal or should I return it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I'll give it a few days and then possibly contact Amazon. When I'm working it's okay, but looking an empty black screen, or one with a dark wallpaper, is when I really notice it. Pity, as my 2408WFP is beautiful.

100% completely normal. My U2410 and all 3 of my U2311H's do the same thing. You get used to it but it does somewhat negate the benefits of decent viewing angles if truth be told.

@Space Monkey: I cant say I have this problem. Though my wife's older 2405FPW has acquired some yellow on the edges over the past year, but then again that's an old monitor we purchased about 6 years ago. I think it has something to do with the back lighting. Probably be best for you to send it back

What have you got the brightness set too ??

I have the brightness on my U2410 set to 10....

At the moment it's at 26. I guess I could lower it and up the contrast slightly?
