Dell U2412M (2011) or Dell U2414H (2013)?

I would like 1920x1200 but I would also like a tiny bezel (the 2013 model) and USB 3.0 ports!

the U2414H is a much better monitor as long as you dont mind 1920 x 1080 resolution instead of 1920 x 1200. lighter AG coating, flicker free backlight, newer connectivity, better response times, no overshoot problems (like on the U2412M), USB 3.0....

The problem is, the new model will take at least 6-9 months to drop to the £200 level of the current model and I won't allow my budget for a 24" monitor to top around £225.

Have three u2414.

Not bad monitors, but the colour variance between the three is not nice. I would have thought all three on rgb colour preset would be good to go, but the middle screen has a stronger red colour cast.

And i tried a few replacements but could not get three matching screens. So I need to set up colors myself.

Apart from that, they have been pretty decent. Quite responsive, good colour once set up, nice slim bezel for triple screen.

Bit more backlight bleed than I would have liked though.

I have just placed an order with OcUK for the DELL U2414H & super excited as this is my first IPS monitor.

Questions,

Do you know if the box comes complete with connectivity cables HDMI/DP?

Ideally I'd like to use DP, I read somewhere that the box is shipped with DP to Mini DP, is there a difference between using this cable vs. DP to non mini DP?

yes it only comes with a DisplayPort to mini DP cable. So you can connect to the DP output on your graphics card, and then into the mini DP on the monitor. very easy no HDMI cable provided thougth
