Do you think the 3 year warranty is worth the extra £160?

What's the difference between return to base and on site? Is it that on site, you come to your house to repair/collect if there is a problem and return to base - you have to mess around returning it?

Warranty: 1 Year Return to base (Premium Panel Guarantee)
Warranty: 3 Years On-Site (Premium Panel Guarantee)

What is the ETA: 12/08/11 on the cheaper ones but the standard ones have 10 in stock? Are the 3 year warranty monitors different?

Standard 3 year warranty monitor

Considering that Dell are absolute ***** to deal with, I'd be wary.

The sales of good act is on your side though.

That may be your experience but I've done about 5 Dell monitor swaps and they've all gone smoothly. I can highly recommend Dells on-site swap warranty they give with monitors.

The £499 version is a year with OcUK directly, personally I'd wait until the 3 year version is on offer somewhere and pay the extra.

Basically yes, you return it to OcUK and they deal with the warranty. Dell normally offer an on site extrange warranty with monitors where the come to your door next day with a boxed model, you just swap them over and keep all your cables, packaging etc. It is so much less hassle.

return to base = you send it back
on site = they come to you

3yr ones are the normal stock, supplied with dell warranty

1yr are pre order, not arrived yet and come with warranty from overclockers

the 1yr pre order are the same monitior but are cancelled sale monitors. ie ordered by someone and then cancelled.. still new in the box

worth the extra money for 3 years ? thats up to you

Not disputing that, in fact I'd say they are bloody brilliant in regards monitors WHEN they're in warranty. Good luck getting even a phone call out of warranty.

thats the same for every company though isnt it.

they help you in warranty and when its out of warranty there is nothing they can do

and? Same for every company as Paul 11 rightly mentions. They are a business at the end of the day, sure a very large one but like any other they are not there to lose money. Which is what they'd do if they repaired/replaced every faulty monitor regardless of what warranty status.
