Dell U2711 Fade?

Hi all

I have just got a second hand Dell U2711 off the bay. All's fine except my eyes keep getting drawn to a very slight dark strip down the right hand side of the screen. It's only really apparent on Google, and other fully white pages.

Can anyone who has this monitor chirp in? Has the person I bought it off been having a non-full screen window open near constantly or is it more to do with the IPS panel viewing angles, colour calibration, anti-glare panels, gamma settings etc?
 
shouldnt be any variation imo should be as near as poss uniform across the board

how old is it i beleive the 3yr warranty should be transferable

It's still got 18 months of the 3 year warranty left. Is this usually something that is covered?
