Dell U2711 Resolution problem

Hi

Could anybody please help, I have a Dell U2711 and a ATI 5870 connected with a DisplayPort lead on windows 7 64bit But the max resolution I can get is 1920x1200 and it says recommended next to it. I have updated video drivers but still the same.

Any Help would be really appreciated

Thanks for the reply but have no clue where that's gone that's why I was trying the DisplayPort lead I was told that would do the job ...oh well

Thanks for the reply mate its like you said there must a problem somewhere else but what not a clue. I have tried duel dvi and display port and its the same, I did have a dual screen setup running ultramon but have removed all the software.
