So I'd like to buy a nice IPS screen.

I own a Benq XL2420 but I've realised that I don't really play that many twitchy games these days and would therefore prefer better image quality, and higher resolution.

I am drawn to the U2711 which sounds like it's a great screen. However, it's been out for a while and therefore I'm wondering whether Dell have something new just on the Horizon or whether there is another monitor that I should consider (which matches the IQ and general build quality).

Thanks.

Search for Dell U2713, from what I gather this will appear later this year, will have a glossy screen and LED backlight but no Displayport. No idea if any of this is true :)

There are some photos of what is supposed to be the U2713 on an Asian web site somewhere. Just Google it and I'm sure you will find them. They look genuine but who knows.
Anyway, I couldn't wait for an official announcement from Dell so I've taken a chance on the DGM IPS-2701WPH.
A 27" A+ grade IPS panel with a 3 year warranty at £320 is just too good to resist.

glossy blah...

if 27", i would go for samsung 27" SA850. Its LED and not glossy!! has USB 3.0 hub built in.

If I wouldnt snap 30" screen from MM on here, I would go for samsung.

Of course if you like glossy and reflective than there are quite few other screens that will suit your needs.

I think Samsung is great alternative to Dell. and many people dont like coating on dell as well...

or you could wait for the Hazro HZ27WB - 27" 10bit CCFL IPS. No glass - No dust - solid build.

Coming to OCUK end of August - confirmed.

Price tba - but it will be low.

is it going to be as reflective as current 27 hazro with no glass ? I had one and was way to reflective for me...

Always thought the Dell 27 / 30" Dell's are a class apart from most others on the market

How solidly they are built, the choice of inputs they offer as well as the quality of the display itself, very few imo come close

The 30" that I have is still an amazing piece of kit well over a year after I bought it

There are no 27" 10-bit CCFL panels I am aware of that don't have a matte surface so it is unlikely to be reflective at all. It will be like other Hazro 'WB' models I would imagine.

Correct - it features a CCFL matte panel - not glossy. Its aimed at the pre-press, graphic design and other multimedia markets. A single Dual Link DVI connector is all that's offered.
