[Hey guys!

I just bought a shiny new U2713HM from OcUK and whilst I love the overall build quality and features of the monitor, coming from a Hazro HZ27WC would you believe I am a little disappointed with the colors and/or image quality? Maybe it is just what I am used to?

Anyhow, after searching the net and not finding anything I thought a cool thread for us U21713HM users would be to share our OSD settings.

Therefore, does anyone have a 'golden' color setup that they would like to share?

Looking forward to hearing your replies!]

Could you not copy the calibration settings from a review (assuming you use the same GPU manufacturer as used in the calibration?)

I've turned the brightness down a touch but other than that mines using the out the box factory calibration.

Awesome lads nice one

I am very ignorant when it comes to monitors/displays (audio is more my thing).

For example, I went to tftcentral and downloaded some .icc files but after trying to import them using Windows 7 Color Management nothing changed.

Obviously, I have done something wrong.

Has anyone got a nice newbie guide for such a process?

Sounds like you're just used to the calibration of the 27WC, yeah. They should use the same backlight, and the light AG should keep the colours exactly the same (once both calibrated) despite the glossy display of the 27WC.

The profile is only a part of the process. You need to pair the profile with the relevant settings outlined in the review / table (if shown). Helps in a lot of cases but not always keep in mind - as explained on the profile database page :)

Badly made that Hazro but damn was the image beautiful on it :)

Thanks Badass, I'll do some reading. Clearly my lazyness holding me back here! haha.

Makes a change. :D

Would be interested to hear what you think of the Dell once you have calibrated to your liking as i've had my eye on this monitor too.I'll be coming from a Crossover 27" ips but would like better connectivity without the loss of picture quality and also the Dell warranty is a bonus ;)

TBH man, I'm not sure how much calibration will be able to do as the overall image quality of this Dell feels kinda....grainy?

However, the build quality and the USB 3.0 hub is seriously useful and the screen oozes quality.

I should also mention that originally I had a glass Hazro which I LOVED. Only problem was it had dirt/dust behind the panel so I sent it back. Unfortunately, they sent a non-glass replacement that I never liked as much.

I'm a fan of glossy screens though I think - they seem to have this 'vibrancy' to them that the non-glossy ones I have seen lack. The Dell has this kinda grainy look to it. Having said this the colors are very nice.

However, I am by no means an expert and this is all subjective personal opinion so don't take my word for it!

Mmm i too love the vibrancy and colours of a glossy screen.Maybe i need to find somewhere with the Dell so i can view it in the flesh, although before the Crossover all my monitors have had some form of ag that if looked at closely you could see a slight 'grain' effect.
