Dell U2715H - 1080p?

Sup all,

Thinking of getting the above monitor, however, I have my PC going out to my amp, which then also outputs to my 50" plasma. Which is 1080p.

When I wish to game on the sofa, will it be a nightmare? Or am I right in thinking the 1440p monitor will simple display 1080p until I turn off the plasma (duplicated screens) and then resume back to 1440p?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a decent 1440p 27" monitor, I'd be happy to hear.

Either that, or thinking of this next to my current 1080p 24" monitor.

hold up a minute here you already have a 24" monitor and a 50" plasma?

please don't use the plasma for gaming on (image retention) unless you only game for < 1 hour at a time and/or it gets used for a lot of tv and movies in between.

why do you need another monitor?

the pc won't switch resolutions on the fly like that and nobody should expect it to do so. it will run at whatever resolution you tell it to run at.

Not sure it gives you the answer you want, but that dell monitor displays fine at 1080p.
