DELL U3011 Brightness

Does changing the brightness of this screen effect colour at all? Or just infact the power the screen uses? I have just set it to brightness 100 and kept contrast at 50. Wow what a difference in how vivid things are.

Should i keep it like this?

What are other owners doing?

They're your eyes so keep it at whatever works for you.

You'll see for yourself.

As far as power goes the difference between 0% and 100% brightness is around 80W. That's around £10 extra on the electric bill if used for a couple of hours a day.

£10 over what though? A month? A year?

Personally I've got mine at the default settings using the Adobe RGB Preset, seems fine to me.

Hahah gutted for my parents! Although I do intend to move out shortly after I graduate anyhow. Speed please try 100% and tell me if you can notice a colour change. Personally I cant but the brightness is amazing at 100% going back to 50% was incredibly dull.

Colours do change.

Unfortunately I don't have a calibration device at the moment but backlight brightness *does* change the colour representation.
