Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP Any good?

Hi guys,

Just ordered this badboy of a monitor, but ive been reading a dew posts about "banding" is this till present in the 2007WFP? And what problems does it cause.?? :confused:

Please tell me I made the right choice lol

Banding is evil.

You will surely go to hell for your choice of screen.

Ok, maybe not. Banding will cause you problems when you have colour gradients on screen. Instead of seeing a smooth transition, you will see blocks or bands of that colour as it gets darker or lighter. As far as I can tell, most Dell users are not bothered by it, but some just cannot get on with it and have returned the screens.

As for whether it is still present on current models, can't help you there sorry. I am sure someone will be along soon though to tell you everything will be fine

I have the Dell 2007WFP and have no problems with banding. The revision on mine is A02 which I believe Dell have turned the overdrive feature off on the desktop preset which overcomes the banding problem.

Very nice monitors, you will be very happy with it.

Dell released an updated version of the monitor which fixes the banding, I think that you will prolly recieve one of those anyway. There shouldn't be much of a problem with it.
