Am I correct in saying that the Dell comes with an HDMI port? If so does this enable me to run it standalone for my Playstation 3? Is the top HD resolution supported?

Thanks,
Alex

I asked exactly the same question weeks ago.
And no one was able to anwser it... I believe because few people have this setup.

After doing further research it appears the HDMI port on the Dell isn't the best of quality, or the Dell isn't able to display a very good image when the HDMI port is been used. This is apparent for all Revisions i believe.
Although its quiet possible to use one of the other's which i have read supplies a very good image.

Please be aware that you will get two small black bands on this monitor when, both it and the PS3 are run at full resolutions.
The Dell is: 1920x1200. @60Hz
PS3 is: 1920x1080. @60Hz

OK, this is very confusing. My friend says his has one, some of you say it doesn't, some of you say it does. Is there a labelled picture of the rear of the monitor that I could possibly have a look at?

There has definitely never been a HDMI port on the Dell 2407. You can use a HDMI to DVI cable though (or component but the Dell component image quality is poor). BenQ FP241W(Z) has a HDMI port though.

the 2407 doesnt come with HDMI

Cheers. I now stand corrected. :o
And its the component thats giving all the problems. Well poor picture quality?
What about the S-Video or Composite connection?

Regards VIPeR.

From what I understand, the component on the Dell can only display a 1080i signal. It should be able to display 1080p through HDMI over DVI. You'd have to be bloody mental to spend over £800 on the two pieces of kit and connect them with a composite or s-video cable :p
